What’s been happening at Camp Kesem UC Santa Cruz?
EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!
FIND OUT WHAT’S BEEN KEEPING UC SANTA CRUZ SO BUSY!
UC Santa Cruz is proud to say we have just begun our first chapter! With the dedication of Camp Co-Directors, Katie Sweeney (Snickers) and Marissa Heirich (Roo), we were able to receive a grant to begin our journey to bringing magic back to Santa Cruz! Along with Santa Clara University, we are the most recent chapters to complete Camp Kesem National!
With that said, we have been busy creating a foundation of enthusiastic coordinators as well as a plan to raise at least $30,000 for thirty campers at Camp Kesem UC Santa Cruz 2014. As of now, we have two coordinators for each of the five committees: Volunteer Outreach (Gaby Bornstein & Oliver Standring), Community Outreach Coordinators (Michelle Dahr & Emily Redfield), Operations Coordinators (Sydney Okumura & Katherine Rodriguez), and Marketing and PR Coordinators (Chloe Acebo & Valerie Vance)! In addition, we even scored La Honda’s YMCA Camp Jones Gulch as a camp site! We definitely have our amazing Operations Coordinators to thank for getting the ball rolling!
Additionally, Camp Kesem UC Santa Cruz held our first information night to outreach for committee members! Luckily, fifty people arrived and were excited to get to work! Finally, we’ve landed two fundraisers for the month of November! Stay tuned, and get ready! Because Camp Kesem UC Santa Cruz is ready to make the magic really happen!
