Meet The Team
Hannah “Goose” Kennedy is from Chesterfield, Virginia. She is a junior at VCU currently enrolled as a Business Management major. She is an expert at finding four leaf clovers, her favorite camp activities are Feet On Bed and tie dyeing, Goose enjoys ALL camps songs but particularly the bear song. 2017 will be Goose’s second year of camp, and first year as director!
Devin “Finn” Peregoy is a senior at VCU majoring in Elementary Education, and is from Palmyra, Virginia. He knows the whole alphabet in sign language, and is great at juggling (even with one hand). His favorite camp song is, “Brown Squirrel”, and he is counting the days till next year’s camp!
Thanh “Short Stack” Doan is a senior and Finance major at VCU. He is from Henrico, Virginia. Short Stack is new this year to the Treasurer position, and to the Camp Kesem family. He is very proud of his ability to, “Naruto run”, and will occasionally do it just to hone his skills. His favorite camp song thus far is, “Hi! My Name is Joe”, and he is very excited to experience the magic of camp!
Brooke “Pumpkin” Fulton is a double major in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing major entering her junior year at VCU. Pumpkin will be returning to camp for her second year, but this will be her first year as a member of the coordinator board. Her favorite camp song of all time is, “Get Loose!”, and her favorite activity is arts & crafts!
Mahad "Potato" Mustafa is a junior at VCU studying biology, he is heading into his second year of camp, and his first as the CIT counselor as apart of the operations board. His favorite camp song is, "HI! My Name is Joe", and he is looking forward to shooting hoops with the campers this summer
Morgan “Julia Butterfly” Jacobs is a junior at VCU majoring in Strategic Advertising and Social work, with a minor in nonprofit management and administration. The inspiration for her name comes from her childhood role model, environmental activist, Julia “Butterfly” Hill. Her favorite camp song is, “Hi! My name is Joe”, and she’s super psyched for her new position as Outreach coordinator!
Sam “Wallaby” Dixon is a senior at VCU majoring in both Creative and Strategic Advertising, with a minor in business. Every morning he gets out of bed he gets, “loose and funkaaaay”, to start his day off the right way. Wallaby’s favorite camp food is taco lasagna, and he is counting down the days till he can have some again!
Katherine “Kit Kat” Shearer is a Junior at VCU, from Summerduck, Virginia, majoring in Elementary Education. Her favorite song is, “Get Loose”, and the part of camp that thrills her most is thinking up outfits for theme days!
Maya "Doc" Parson is from Warrenton, VA and in her senior year at VCU. This coming fall she will be capping off a major in biology, with a minor in chemistry on the pre-med track. Doc's favorite camp song is Boom chicka boom! and she cannot wait to see all the chapter's hard work pay off and to spread Kesem love!
Hannah “Stitch” Johnson is a sophomore at VCU, majoring in History and Elementary Education. Her favorite camp song is, “Tarzan”. She is dedicated to making this Make the Magic the best in the chapter’s history. Stitch also can’t wait to get her groove on again at the camp dance party!
Ashley “Panda” Day is a Chemistry major on a Pre-Pharmaceutical track, entering her sophomore year at VCU. Panda is from Norflolk, Virginia, she loves to sing, “Pizza Man”, as loud as she can. She finds making friendship bracelets to be the most enjoyable camp activity.
Phong “King Bob” Truong is from Great Falls, Virginia. He is a sophomore at VCU where his studying biology on the pre-med track. In his free time he loves listening and playing music, and telling his friends about Camp Kesem. His favorite camp songs are, “The Llama Song”, and, “Tarzan”, and he loves pool time. In his second year apart of the family King Bob hopes to introduce more people to the beauty that is Camp Kesem!
Rebecca "Pasta" Dainotto is sophomore at VCU studying forensic science and chemistry. Pasta is a former camper but will be serving her first year as a counselor and a coordinator this year as one half of the volunteer pair. Her favorite camp song is, "Little Sally Walker", and she is excited to see camp and how it all works from the counselor perspective.
Jose “Jazz” Ochoa is from Chesterfield, Virginia and is a junior at VCU studying Political Science, while also on the Pre-Med track and minoring in biology. Jazz loves sports and music, this is his first year as a member of CK and he is beyond excited for the opportunity!
Jaylen "Charmander" Culp is from Chesterfield, Virginia and is a sophomore at VCU studying Marketing. His favorite camp song is, "Pizza Man", and his favorite camp food is by far the peanut butter and jelly. 2017 will be his second year as a part of camp and his goal is to get to know each and every camper better.
