Meet the Team
Hi I am Hobbes and I am very excited for this coming year with my partner in directing Clumsy! I am currently going into my Victory Lap, or 5th year, of college and I'm double majoring in History & International Relations with a minor in Education. There is nothing more that I love in this world then traveling, the Seattle Seahawks, and hammocking at Camp with my Maroon boys. I am thrilled to be one of the Co-Directors this year and I cant wait for another year of camp!!
Hi I'm Clumsy and I am so excited to be Co-Director with Hobbes next year! I am majoring in Kesem with a double minor in Organic Chemistry and Psychology. I love hot dogs almost as much as my Limers and the 24 hour study room. When I'm not making spreadsheets for Kesem or studying with Sprout, I love to take naps, buy oranges at farmers market, pet strangers dogs, salsa dance, and listen to the Hamilton soundtrack. I am already counting down the days until camp 2018!! I love receiving emails so please don't hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hi there! My name is Clover and I am a fourth year biomedical engineering major minoring in history. This will be my third year as treasurer and I can’t wait for another amazing fundraising year. My favorite thing about Camp Kesem, besides the songs and frequent games of Ninja, is that Kesem is a way for us to help turn something as negative as cancer into a fun filled week long camp where friends become family. Having been affected by cancer myself, I love that I am able to help the campers talk about what they have experienced by providing a safe, trusting environment where they can be themselves. Outside of Kesem, I love to read, bake/cook, and go on spontaneous adventures with friends. I can’t wait to go back to camp next year and spend time with all of our wonderful campers and counselors, especially to sing Pineapple Hat and Princess Pat!
Hi I'm Sprout and this is my third year as Kesem counselor, and I am majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in Biology. I couldn't be more excited to plan camp with Sweet Pea and Chef as Operations Co-Coordinator next year! One of my favorite memories from camp this year was when Navy Unit started a dance party on the stage before the talent show. When I'm not Keseming (which is rare) you can find me running, swimming, studying with Clumsy, baking, texting Pickles, freaking out about my future, or watching the camp slideshow on repeat.
Hi everyone! My name is Sweet Pea and I am going to be a second-year Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior major. I am so excited to start my second year in Kesem alongside Sprout and Chef on the Operations team! Aside from Kesem, I love to play soccer, hike/be outdoors in general, and, in my more artistic moments, paint. I love everything about Kesem, from meeting incredible kids, to campfire to Messy Olympics, and can’t believe I get to experience this for 3 more years! I am so grateful to be a part of this special and magical community and can’t wait for another amazing week at camp!
My name is Chef, a second-year at UC Davis majoring in Political Science and Economics. I have a profound interest for everything politics and anything sports. Die-hard Warriors (Chef Curry!!!), 49ers and A's fan. Also, as my name would suggest, I really enjoy cooking – anything from traditional Italian dishes with my Nana or baking sweet desserts to satisfy my perpetual sugar cravings. You can always catch me eating, playing sports or writing about them for the UC Davis newspaper, The California Aggie.
Hey party people!!! I go by the name of Stitch and I am so stoked to be one of the Outreach coordinators this year with Tango and Apollo (two of the dopest people I know)! I'm currently a junior majoring in International Agricultural Development at UCD. This will be my second year of camp, and there is no way to describe how much Kesem has changed my life- I was lucky enough to stumble upon the biggest, goofiest, and most supportive family in the world. My favorite thing about camp is being able to ~literally~ see the love that everyone has for each other. When I am not Keseming, you can probably find me eating a massive burrito, embarrassing my friends with my dance moves, taking a good long nap, playing volleyball, or adventuring with my buds. Can't wait for camp- already counting down the days!!
Hi, my name is Tango and I am a 3rd year International Relations major. My family currently lives in San Diego, but I grew up on the East Coast, right outside of Boston. This will be my second year in Camp Kesem and I absolutely adore all of the campers! Some of my hobbies include belting musical theater songs, consuming copious amounts of dessert (ice cream, cookies, ect.), spending time in gardens and munching on fresh fruits and veggies, and going on biking adventures! My favorite part of camp is empowerment ceremony, and this year I want to help bring many new campers to Kesem so that they can witness and experience the magic of Kesem. Now just to close it off, I am super pumped to be an outreach coordinator this year and I can't wait to meet lots of new families and campers!
Hey everyone! It's your friendly-neighborhood-camp counselor Spidey! When I'm not beating up bad guys or helping the elderly cross streets, you can find me swinging from class to class. On my days off, I enjoy playing sports, sipping apple juice from the farmer's market, and taking leisurely strolls along sandy beaches. I'm a second year here at UC Davis and this is also my second year in Camp Kesem. I'm super stoked to help raise money for camp with Spark and help bring the magic of Kesem to as many children as possible. Joining Camp Kesem has been by far the best decision I've made in college. This organization has introduced me to the most amazing people, campers and counselors alike. My picture shows my reaction when people ask me why I love camp so much because it's impossible to put into words! I can't wait to get back to camp and sing my favorite camp song, "Heyyy Burrito!"
Hey Everyone! My name is Spark, and I’m a third year counselor, and fourth year Political Science major. The only thing that I love more than backpacking and being outside is KESEM!! I’m so excited to be a Development Coordinator this year so I can help make all of the Kesem magic possible!
Hey hey! My name is Maverick and I am a junior at UC Davis studying design and french. I am so excited to be starting my third year in Kesem but even more excited to be planning Make the Magic this year along with Jelly and Waffles. Make the magic is one of my favorite nights of the year and I can't wait to help spread the magic of Kesem to all of our guests! My favorite part of camp is campfire time, when everyone comes together at the end of the day for spontaneous dance parties, skits and funny competitions. Aside from camp, I love traveling to new places and being outdoors, cooking and eating with friends and family, and doing anything that allows me to be creative. I can't wait for another amazing year and am already counting down the days until camp!
Hey hey hey it's Jelly! This will be my third year with Camp Kesem and each year just gets better. At school I'm studying Cognitive Science with an emphasis in Neuroscience, so basically I'm a huge fan of the brain and neurons and memory and...don't get me started. In my spare time you can find me laughing, sailing, eating pasta and Nutella (but most definitely not together. Yet.), exploring, studying, and most importantly, counting down the days until camp!!!! I am thrilled to be working with Maverick and Waffles for another wonderful MTM; the magical feeling at camp is my favorite part so I cannot wait to make more of it.
Hey everyone! Waffles here, first of all YAY KESEM!! I was so grateful to be able join my first year and look forward to these 3 years ahead of me!! My favorite part of camp, is a hard question.. but what beats all are the small Kesem moments with campers. I am thrilled to be make the magic chair and work with two bright, talented ladies, Maverick and Jelly. I am a cognitive science major and on my free time I like to relax in the arboretum, go on adventures and try new things/delicious food, or catch up on sleep.
Hey Hey!! My name is Cricket! Why Cricket? Is it because I love the little critter or because I'm a fan of the timeless bat-and-ball game? I guess you'll have to find out! I am so excited to make my triumphant return to Davis after studying abroad and traveling in Europe for the past couple of months. As a result, I've become fluent in Spanish, Italian, and Latin so please feel free to reach out to me in whatever language you like. I'll be a 4th year at Davis majoring in Ultimate Frisbee and possibly minoring in Statistics (my love for Kesem is definitely statistically significant). I am so hyped to be joining the Volunteer Recruitment team with my favorite pesto ingredient, counselor Basil. Camp Kesem is truly my home away from home and I can't wait to keep the magic going!
HI!! My name is Pickles and I am a fourth year Biological Sciences major. I am beyond hyped to be an AMP Coordinator with Doodle and make this the best year yet! Kesem is easily the best thing I've done in college and I already can't wait for camp again! From cabin chats to stargazing to being covered in ketchup and mustard, my favorite part of camp is everything. When I'm not hanging out with all my Kesem pals or eating pickles, I enjoy playing with puppies, exploring narure, and making frequent visits to Yoloberry. Thanks for reading! AHHH I LOVE KESEM!!!
Hey everyone! I'm Doodle and I'm SO EXCITED to be an AMP Coordinator with Pickles this year. I am a third year Biological Sciences major and Human Rights minor. When I'm not Keseming or doing schoolwork you can find me giving tours around campus, hanging out with fellow counselors, eating poke bowls, doing cancer research in the lab, napping or playing my ukulele. I think Kesem is hands-down the best organization at UC Davis, which is why I'm so excited to help get our name out there and keep everyone up to date on CK happenings. My favorite thing about camp is definitely empowerment, but I also love Messy Olympics, go-karts and camp songs! Counting down the days until camp 2018, the best week of the year!
Hi, my name is Sloth and I am a fourth year International Relations and Sociology double major with a minor in Human Rights. When I'm not studying, you can find me running, hiking, or binge watching New Girl with my roommate's puppy. This will be my third year in Kesem and I am lucky enough to spend it as CIT Coordinator. The CIT's are such an incredible group of humans and I am beyond excited to be working with them this year!
Hey all, my name is Beatz and I am a third year Biomedical Engineering major. This will be my third year at camp and I am pumped to be a CIT Coord with Sloth. When I'm not focused on Kesem or school I am usually busy playing soccer or tennis (winning championships) or hanging out with friends. I am also an avid reader, in fact I was the fastest reader in my 4th, 5th, and 6th classes (won tons of in-n-out certificates, just sayin). I was so excited to join Kesem and now I get to be a coordinator. I guess dreams do come true.
