How Can You Become A Counselor
We encourage all interested undergraduates of Stony Brook to apply for a chance to become a Camp Kesem Counselor for our Summer 2015 session! Keep in mind, the number of spots is limited and your involvement in Camp Kesem committees is highly recommended. By working together we can make magic happen for deserving children!

For those who applied there will be a 2 part interview process; the group interview and then individual interviews. You will be notified of the time and location shortly after submitting your application.

Responsible for the daily routines of 8-10 campers in your cabin. You will report to your Unit Leader.
Responsible for planning and leading groups in your particular program area (Science, Adventure and Arts and Crafts). You will be reporting to the Camp Administration Team.
Responsible for overseeing 15-20 campers and 5-7 counselors, providing counselors with guidance and support and handling “out of the ordinary” camper situations. Additionally, you are the liaison between counselors and the Camp Administration Team, who you will report to.
A team of approximately 6 members that oversees all camp and facility operations, programming, camper family contact, and emergency situations.
**All staff members are responsible for adhering to the Staff Policies and Camp Kesem Staff Manual and participating in trainings and meetings. Your main responsibility, aside from your specific roles, is to be a positive role model to the campers.

General requirements for accepted applicants:
1) 30+ hours total on weekends in the Spring semester for training.
2) $500 minimum fundraising goal towards Camp Kesem Stony Brook.
3) 100% availability during the week of camp.
Tentative Camp Dates (7 days, 6 nights) fall between June 26th – July 3rd, 2015
