Senior Spotlight: Pixie
Hi! I go by Pixie at camp, but my real name is Monica, and I’m from Hartford, Wis. I am graduating next month with a degree in biology and plans to start an Accelerated Nursing Program in January 2015. I first got involved with Camp Kesem during my sophomore year of school because CKUW’s founder, Goldie, talked to me about joining the club when she started it. I was instantly hooked! After my first summer at camp, I joined the executive board as a student support co-coordinator. This year, I am a development co-coordinator.
My first year at camp, I was a drama program leader, and last year I was with the teens. I loved having the opportunity to work with the teens; they were very inspirational to me.
Although I graduate soon, Camp Kesem will always be a part of my life! I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with amazing leaders and make lifelong friends. My future will only benefit from being a part of CKUW! #kesemlove
After graduation, I will miss working with these amazing leaders every week, and most of all, I will miss getting to know the amazing, inspiring, and strong-hearted children that attend camp every year!
