Senior Spotlight: Bubbles
Hey Camp Kesem! I’m Jessica, or Bubbles, and I’m from Grafton, Wis. I am majoring in early childhood education, and I will graduate in a couple of weeks! I hope to teach in a classroom with students who are somewhere between 4K and third grade.
I heard about Camp Kesem my freshman year at the student organization fair. This is my second year as an operations coordinator for Camp Kesem UW-Madison, and before that, I was the volunteer coordinator. My first year at camp, I was a counselor for the middle age group, and the following year, I was with the youngest girls. Last year, I was in the admin cabin, which I will also be in this year.
Camp Kesem has had a huge impact on my life. Camp Kesem has made me more passionate about working with kids and getting to know all of my students so that I can be supportive in every way possible. It has given me great experience with leadership, organization, planning, collaboration, professionalism and so much more. I will never forget the memories I made during my time with Camp Kesem.
I am going to miss everything about CKUW. I will miss seeing the other counselors and board members who have become some of my best friends. I will miss our incredible campers and their families, and I will miss the fun times that we have together as a camp family throughout camp and the rest of the year.
