About Us

To support children through and beyond their parent's cancer with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.

To ensure that every child touched by a parent's cancer is never alone.

Camp Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. A program of Kesem, Camp Kesem operates over 70 free summer camps in 34 states for children ages 6 to 16 who have been touched by a parent’s cancer. This camping experience has a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. In 2015, Camp Kesem served over 5,000 children coast-to-coast - all funded by generous donations from individuals and corporate support.

Our History

Camp Kesem at Santa Clara University was founded in 2013 and supports children in the Bay Area community by providing a free, week-long summer camp experience as well as year-long peer support through and beyond a parent's cancer. Camp Kesem at Santa Clara University is operated by 20+ student volunteers and has served over 60 campers and growing. This year, our chapter's goal is to raise $60,000 to send 60 kids to camp!
