January 28, 2013 New Counselors, New Camp Names!Here at Camp Kesem, every participant is christened with a camp-specific nickname for the week of camp. Some camp names are carefully thought out, while some are completely random. Some people name themselves, and some people get names chosen for them- the latter of which is way more fun, in our opinion! Why do we do it? We find that camp names serve not only as an addition to the silliness level that we like to maintain at camp, but also as a constant reminder that our camp world is tangibly different from the real world. Camp names are special, because they tie us to our favorite place! Today was a big day for Camp Kesem UGA, because all of our brand new counselors received their camp names at our very first training of the semester! Without further adieu, here’s the list of first-year counselors who will be joining our returning members at camp this summer- listed by camp name, of course!
