March 7, 2013 New Counselors!We are SO excited to welcome our new counselors to the Camp Kesem Mizzou family! “Corky” Hometown: Year: Junior Major: HDFS- Child Life Major “I am so beyond excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be a Camp Kesem counselor this summer. This past year working with the coordinating team has been one of the best experiences of my life and I am so excited to see everyone’s hard work pay off in August! I’m counting down the days until the first day of camp and getting to meet all of our awesome campers and experience the magic of Camp Kesem!”

It is one of my favorite hobbies, and I think nothing is more fun than making a fool out of myself in front of a large group of people. “I am excited to be a counselor at camp, because I also dealt with a parent having “Bumblebree” Hometown: Lee’s Summit, Missouri Year: Senior Major: Nursing Fun Fact: If I could eat one food for the rest of my life it would be Halloween Oreos. “I’m really excited to meet the campers! “Sasquatch” Hometown: Cape Girardeau Year: Sophomore Major: Nursing Fun Fact: One time in 4th grade I simultaneously hiccuped, burped then threw up. “Snickerdoodle” Hometown: Denver, CO/Kansas City, MO Year: Sophomore Major: Elementary Education Fun Fact: My most favorite candy is blue raspberry sour punch straws!! “I’m excited for camp because I can’t wait to meet all the campers and help them develop friendships and create memories that they will never forget!” “Squeak” Hometown: Naperville, Illinois Year: Freshman Major: Journalism Fun Fact: The first time I ever went to summer camp when I was 7 I got attacked by a wild turkey… “I’m excited for camp for so many reasons! New friends, fun, and kids!”
“Tater Tot” Hometown: Edwardsville, IL Year: Junior Major: Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies Fun Fact: I can touch my tongue to my nose! “This is my first year as a camp counselor so I am most excited to meet all of the campers, learn all of the Camp Kesem traditions and songs, and last but not least, spend a week full of fun!”
“Bobbins” Hometown: Springfield, IL Year: Sophomore Major: Human Development and Family Studies with a Child Life emphasis. Fun Fact: I have run two half marathons, and hope to one day run a full marathon! “Helping children is a passion of mine, which was one of my inspirations to get involved with Camp Kesem when I first heard about it. I am so excited to meet the amazing kiddos that are coming to camp and to get to be a part of the magic!
