New Counselors!

 We are SO excited to welcome our new counselors to the Camp Kesem Mizzou family! 

“Corky”

Hometown:

Year: Junior

Major: HDFS- Child Life Major

“I am so beyond excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be a Camp Kesem counselor this summer. This past year working with the coordinating team has been one of the best experiences of my life and I am so excited to see everyone’s hard work pay off in August! I’m counting down the days until the first day of camp and getting to meet all of our awesome campers and experience the magic of Camp Kesem!”

 

 

“Bambi”

Hometown: Kirkwood, Missouri

Year: Sophomore

Major: Marketing/Spanish

Fun Fact: I can beat Booger 9 out of 10 times in Mario Party

“Being part of the Coordinator’s Board this year has really got me excited for
my first year at camp! Running the blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages
has been a great experience this year and I can’t wait for August!”

Hometown: Kirkwood, Missouri

Year: Sophomore

Major: Business Management/economics

Fun fact: I’m an eagle scout and love the outdoors

“I can’t wait to spend a week of fun with the kids at camp and
at first glance you’d probably think I was one of the kids too.”

 “Gus”

Hometown: Affton, Missouri- which he claims is the greatest city in the world.

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Fun Fact: I’m a specialist of karaoke. It is one of my favorite hobbies, and I think nothing is more fun than making a fool out of myself in front of a large group of people.

“I am excited to be a counselor at camp, because I also dealt with a parent having
cancer at the same age of the campers, so I think I could be very beneficial.”

“Bumblebree”

Hometown: Lee’s Summit, Missouri

Year: Senior

Major: Nursing

Fun Fact: If I could eat one food for the rest of my life it would be Halloween Oreos.
Not the plain or double stuffed, just Halloween.

“I’m really excited to meet the campers! Spending an entire week, running around, playing
games, and having the BEST WEEK EVER, who wouldn’t be excited for that?!”

“Booger”

Hometown: Chesterfield, MO

Year: Junior

Major: Finance

Fun Fact: I was a competitive gymnast for 15 years, and I can still complete a standing flip!

“I am excited for my first Camp Kesem, and look forward to bringing
an outrageous, joyful, and animated attitude to this years camp.”

“M&M”

Hometown: Edwardsville, IL

Year: Sophomore

Major: Business Marketing

Fun Fact: I was so obsessed with pickles when I was younger that my AIM name might
have been picklelver16 and when I say might, I mean it definitely was.

“I am more than excited to go to camp to finally have an excuse to let my silly side out and build long-lasting relationships with the other counselors and campers!”

Fun Fact: One time in 4th grade I simultaneously hiccuped, burped then threw up.

Fun Fact: My most favorite candy is blue raspberry sour punch straws!!

“I’m excited for camp because I can’t wait to meet all the campers and help them develop friendships and create memories that they will never forget!”

Hometown: Naperville, Illinois

Year: Freshman

Major: Journalism

Fun Fact: The first time I ever went to summer camp when I was 7 I got attacked by a wild turkey…

“I’m excited for camp for so many reasons! New friends, fun, and kids!”

“Tater Tot”

Hometown: Edwardsville, IL

Year: Junior

Major: Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies

Fun Fact: I can touch my tongue to my nose!

“This is my first year as a camp counselor so I am most excited to meet all of the campers, learn all of the Camp Kesem traditions and songs, and last but not least, spend a week full of fun!”

Year: Sophomore

Major: Human Development and Family Studies with a Child Life emphasis.

Fun Fact: I have run two half marathons, and hope to one day run a full marathon!

“Helping children is a passion of mine, which was one of my inspirations to get involved with Camp Kesem when I first heard about it.  I am so excited to meet the amazing kiddos that are coming to camp and to get to be a part of the magic! ”
