#ToastASmore Campaign to Honor the 5+ Million Children Impacted by a Parent's Cancer

WHAT: Camp Kesem is honored to be the country’s Official Sponsor of “National S’mores Day” - celebrating the country’s most popular campfire treat - a delicious, gooey delight consisting of roasted marshmallow with a layer of chocolate bar sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. Celebratory “S'mores” events - involving thousands of campers and counselors - will take place at 21 Camp Kesem campsites across the country on August 10, 2017Media is welcome to attend with advanced arrangements.

WHY: Camp Kesem is proud to continue the tradition of celebrating National S’mores Day with activities at 21 Camp Kesem sites across the country - bringing fun to thousands of campers and counselors and raising awareness to Kesem’s mission which supports the over 5 million children in our country who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer.

WHO: Camp Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. A program of Kesem, Camp Kesem operates 105 free summer camps in 40 states for children ages 6 to 18 who have been affected by a parent’s cancer. This camping experience and Kesem's year-round support has a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. In 2017, Camp Kesem is serving over 7,200 children coast-to-coast - all funded by generous donations from individuals and corporate support.
