2014-2015 Camp Kesem Michigan Coordinator Board
At Camp Kesem, the entire two weeks of camp are run by student volunteers who give up a week of their summer to work as a camp counselor for kids who have been affected by their parent’s cancer. While there are nearly 100 students who volunteer their time for those two weeks, there are 18 who volunteer their entire year. The Coordinator Board is a group of students who dedicate hours of their lives each week to making sure that Camp Kesem Michigan is organized, funded, and planned to the extent that it needs to be to make sure that each camper has the greatest week of their summer. Through different committees ranging from planning camp themes, to recruiting counselors, to designing camp shirts, to soliciting donations, and much more that happens without anyone’s knowledge, they join forces to make Camp Kesem the success that it is.
