The inaugural year of our Counselor in Training program was a great success! We had six amazing CITs at CK Michigan and learned a lot. We look forward to continuing the program for Camp 2013. Not only will we be expanding our CIT program by recruiting new members but we will also have our previous CITs help us at our monthly events throughout the year. Additionally, we encourage the previous CITs to continue their involvement by holding their own fundraisers at their respective schools. We will be supporting their initiatives, and we look forward to seeing their visions for helping camp come to life! Please check back for updates later this fall!
The CIT Program is for 17 and 18 year olds with a desire to work with children with a parent that has or has had cancer. The program will focus on leadership, community service and team-building skills. CITs attending a college or university without a CK chapter are able to come back as Camp Kesem Michigan counselors after their freshman year.
Camp Kesem CIT’s will attend the full week of camp and will have a schedule that allows them to gain valuable skills and experience in the role of a counselor-in-training, that also provides all the fun of a week at summer camp! To find out more about the CIT program, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply for the CIT program please fill out a camper application here. We will contact you with a supplemental CIT application once this is submitted.
Here are a few more pictures from this past summer. It was such a wonderful and rewarding week for the CITs and their counselors!
