StudentsIf you are a JHU student, Camp Kesem is an opportunity for you to build friendships, gain leadership skills, and contribute to your local community. We are a student run organization that provides a free week-long summer camp for children who have or have had a parent with cancer. Our camp offers students the opportunity to become either student members or student counselors. MembersAs a member, you will:
CounselorsCamp Kesem JHU has a 3:1 ratio of campers to counselors. For the summer of 2013, we would like to take 18-20 counselors to camp. The counselor selection process is very important in order for camp to run smoothly. Prospective counselors are expected to attend meetings as well as take part in events and fundraisers. All counselors are carefully screened by the camp coordinators and receive extensive training.
The application deadline has passed for summer 2013. Community MembersIf you are a community member in the Maryland area and are looking for a meaningful and fulfilling way to help the community, we are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising, publicizing, and advising Camp Kesem JHU.
