Welcome to Camp Kesem Central PA!
Camp Week 2015:
Our camp will be help August 16th-21st at Camp Kweebec in Schwenksville, PA!
What is Camp Kesem?
Camp Kesem (www.campkesem.org) is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, supporting children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Camp Kesem supports the often-overlooked population of children affected by a parent’s cancer through a national network of summer camps run by passionate college student leaders. The one-week sleep away camps are a chance for children aged 6 to 16 to have fun and just be kids. Everything we do at Camp Kesem focuses on our goal of giving campers the best week of their lives while also providing the extra support and attention they need.

There are 1.7 million cancer cases a year in the United States that affect individuals and their families. The support is there for those with cancer, but the special emotional needs of children of adult cancer patients have been overlooked. Simply put, kids are often left to deal with these personal tragedies on their own, and if parents themselves are struggling with illness, their sons and daughters frequently miss the simple joys of childhood.

About Our Camp
We just completed our first year of camp this summer and had a blast! Camp was held at Camp Kweebec in Schwenksville, PA from August 16th-21st. We had a total of 21 campers who each brought something special to our first year at camp. We are so excited to start planning for the 2015 camp week and we hope to get even more amazing campers! If you know any child who is a part of this unique population of kids, please don’t hesitate to refer them to Camp Kesem Central PA. We are so excited to continue our journey as a chapter, and we would love to build our Kesem family.
