Camp Kesem IU: Day 1
It’s here!!! The week we wait the entire year for has finally arrived. After months of planning and fundraising, the CK staff is thrilled to finally bring 100 campers to Camp Carson in Princeton, IN. The day started with some fun at the new-and-improved carnival which included: an endless supply of popcorn, bozo buckets, tetherball, soccer, and candy as well as much more!
Much of the day was time spent in units playing get-to-know-you-games, singing songs, thinking up unit cheers and setting rules so that the week goes smoothly.
After a scrumptious chicken and mashed potato dinner, we sang more songs!!! So if your camper comes home with a beautiful singing voice you know who to thank. It was great to see boys and girls, new and old campers/counselors, and young and old all singing and dancing along to the camp songs.
At night, we held our opening ceremonies where we saw some great counselor skits that went over some important all-camp rules like wearing closed-toe shoes at all times and not wasting water by dumping it on your favorite counselor.
Overall, the day was a great start to the week and just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all of the fun activities that are on the schedule. Check back later in the week for some more blog updates about CKIU 2013!
P.S. The showers have already been put to good use tonight.
