Jane Saccaro, Chief Executive Officer (Camp Name "Pocket")
Jane joined Camp Kesem as Chief Executive Officer in 2010. Prior to joining Camp Kesem, Jane worked at Bain & Company, eToys.com and Princess Cruises, where she developed strategies, implemented change, and collaborated to demonstrably impact results. Jane brings those same skills to Camp Kesem, an organization that has tremendous personal meaning to her. Jane is honored to work with thousands of college student leaders and her colleagues to bring the life-changing “magic” to children whose parents have or have had cancer. Jane earned a M.S. in Engineering-Economic Systems, and a B.A. in Economics and Psychology, both from Stanford University. Today, Jane resides in the Chicago area, with her husband and three children.

Jim Higley, Chief Brand Officer (Camp Name "Pops")
Joining the team as Chief Development & Marketing Officer in 2014, Jim oversees all of Camp Kesem’s partnerships, fundraising and marketing efforts. With over 30 years experience building relationships with individuals and organizations, Jim spent the first 25 years of his professional career as a partner in a commercial real estate firm, where he helped the organization grow significantly. After being diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 44, Jim made a major career shift, and became a stay-at-home father to his three children. Motivated by the loss of his own mother to cancer when he was a child – as well as the loss of his father and young brother to cancer – Jim’s become a visible and passionate voice in both the cancer and parenting communities and regularly speaks and writes about topics related to cancer, positive parenting, and raising children.

Jess Ryan, Director of Alumni Relations (Camp Name "Honey")
Jess founded the University of Georgia chapter of Camp Kesem, a LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project recipient, in 2011 and served as Co-Director for two years. She has since served on the Mentorship and Development Committees for the Camp Kesem Alumni Association. She is also an Advisory Board member for the University of Texas - Austin chapter of Camp Kesem. Jess received both her Masters in Nonprofit Organization Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining the Camp Kesem team, she worked in Fund Development for ZACH Theatre, Texas's longest running professional theatre company. She currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, who she met while attending a Camp Kesem conference as a student leader.

Kim Porter, Marketing Coordinator (Camp Name “Diggz”)
Kim joined Camp Kesem in 2015 as Marketing Coordinator. Prior to Camp Kesem, Kim spearheaded the social media programs at two luxury real estate brokerages, creating and fostering substantial social and digital growth for the companies. A 2009 graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Communication, Kim has also worked as web editor for petMD.com, and as a freelance journalist published in the Miami Herald, Social Affairs Magazine, Miami’s Community Newspapers, and various other websites. Kim was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and currently resides in Chicago, where she is completing her Master's in Human-Computer Interaction at DePaul University.

Maureen Haller, Chief Development Officer (Camp Name “Motown”)
Maureen joined Camp Kesem as Chief Development Officer in 2017. Prior to joining the organization, she served as the Executive Vice President of Development for Easterseals, a nationwide affiliated network providing services for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Maureen has over 20 years experience leading resource development and marketing to drive growth and mission impact for organizations. She has experience in all areas of fund development, including multi-channel direct response fundraising, annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, events and corporate development. Maureen is a graduate of Michigan State University and resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Colleen Geary, Development Director of Events (Camp Name "Gator")
Colleen joined Camp Kesem in 2016. Prior to, she was the Sr. Manager of Distinguished Events for the American Cancer Society overseeing all major gala, golf, and social events throughout the state of Georgia. Colleen previously held similar roles at Georgia State University as the Director of University Events and Associate Director at Gator Boosters, Inc. with the University of Florida Athletic program. During her time with Gator Boosters, she oversaw major fundraising events for the Athletic Association. Most notably was the Gator Gala, celebrating 100 years of Florida Football, which raised $6.1 million. Colleen received both her B.S. and M.S. in Exercise & Sports Science from the University of Florida. A native of Stuart, Florida, Colleen currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Cristin O’Leary Jones, Development Director (Camp Name “Babalu”)
Prior to joining Kesem in 2013, Cristin provided capacity-building services to nonprofit and philanthropic organizations at Draper Consulting Group, particularly focused on fundraising, strategic planning, and board and staff development. She served previously as Grants Manager at Margery Tabankin & Associates, a philanthropic and political advisory firm for high-profile, high-net worth individuals and family foundations. Cristin grew up in Connecticut and earned her M.A. and B.S. in Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston. Cristin currently resides in Los Angeles.

Elle Ullum, Development Director of Corporate Relations (Camp Name “Captain”)
Elle joined Camp Kesem in 2017. Prior to, she was the Vice President of Development for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society responsible for growing and leading the chapter’s comprehensive event-based fundraising programs, including all special events throughout the state of Illinois. Prior to Elle’s nine years at the NMSS, she held roles with with LiveSTRONG and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Team in Training program. Elle received her B.S. in Political Science at the University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio. Elle grew up in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio and currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Kristen Elfering, Events Coordinator (Camp Name “Crush”)
Kristen joined Camp Kesem as Executive Assistant in 2014 and was promoted to Events Coordinator in 2017. She became involved with Camp Kesem at Indiana University in 2010, where she served as a counselor, development coordinator, and Co-Director over the next four years. She graduated in 2014 from Indiana University with a B.S. in Marketing and Management. Kristen has previously worked at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in the Chicago suburb of Lake Zurich, Illinois and currently resides there.

Rebeca Enriquez, Development Coordinator (Camp Name “Mini”)
Rebeca joined the Camp Kesem National team as Development Coordinator in 2016. After losing her mother to cancer in her junior year of college, Rebeca fell in love with the mission of Camp Kesem. Her love for Camp Kesem inspired her to help start a chapter at the University of Southern California in 2013 where she served as a Volunteer Coordinator. After graduation Rebeca has since served as a national intake volunteer, local chapter advisory board member, and a senior camp advisor to multiple Camp Kesem chapters. Rebeca graduated from USC with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. She grew up in San Diego, California and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Bree Turner, Development Associate (Camp Name “Cheddar”)
Bree joined Camp Kesem in 2015. Prior to joining Camp Kesem, Bree specialized in event management, donor engagement, and capacity building at youth-focused organizations, Austin Children's Shelter and Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford County. Bree is a graduate of University of Baltimore where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Services Administration. A native of Ellicott City, Maryland, Bree now resides in Los Angeles.

Abby O’Leary, Director of Finance & Administration (Camp Name “Cadillac”)
Before joining the Camp Kesem staff in 2011, Abby worked in youth development programming in Hillsborough, North Carolina and volunteered extensively with Comfort Zone Camp, a national bereavement camp for children who have lost a parent or sibling. Having lost her own mother to cancer when she was 14, Abby was drawn to Camp Kesem’s model of peer support and college student engagement. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management from North Carolina State University, a Bachelor’s degree from Barnard College/Columbia University, and is a member of the global public affairs and administration honor society Pi Alpha Alpha. Abby hails from McLean, Virginia and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Fanny Wilson, Finance & Accounting Manager (Camp Name “Magee”)
Fanny began working as the Accountant for Camp Kesem in 2010, moving into the role of Finance & Accounting Manager in 2015. Fanny has over 14 years of professional experience working in the accounting field. She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California and is a Certified Public Accountant in California. Fanny has previously worked as a volunteer treasurer for several non-profit organizations. Fanny resides in Moraga, California, with her husband and two children.

Kelsey Wrightwood, Special Projects Coordinator (Camp Name “Fizz”)
Kelsey joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2015 as a National Program Director. Having had lost her mother to cancer at the age of three, she was drawn to the mission of Camp Kesem at the Augustana College chapter. She served as a counselor and co-director at Augustana College and also worked with Camp Kesem National as an event page intern and newsletter reporter. Working with all the incredibly strong campers and student leaders is Kelsey’s inspiration for her involvement with Camp Kesem. She graduated from Augustana College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, a minor in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communications, and a Certification of Nonprofit Leadership Development. Kelsey currently resides in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Alicia Kabir, Chief Operations Officer (Camp Name "ML")
Alicia Kabir joined Camp Kesem as Chief Operations Officer in 2017. Alicia comes to Camp Kesem with 20 years of experience in consulting; as a Partner at ERM, she worked with many Fortune 50 companies, helping them further their environmental, sustainability, and risk management programs. Her other areas of expertise are strategic planning, management of change, and team development. She is excited about Camp Kesem's continued growth and the organization's ability to support more children, and engage more student leaders, each year. Alicia is a graduate of both Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Tufts University, and she currently resides in the Boston, Massachusetts area.

Alexandra Baldwin, Senior Manager of Camp Operations (Camp Name “Lola”)
Alex joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2013 as a National Program Director and became a Manager of Programs in 2015. She got involved with Camp Kesem at Michigan State University in 2008 and served as a coordinator, director, camp advisor, and intern with Camp Kesem National throughout her college career. Alex graduated from Michigan State University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice. She is from Greencastle, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.

Liz Firestone, Senior Manager of Programs (Camp Name “Phishy”)
Before joining the Camp Kesem staff in 2008, Liz grew up and worked at summer camps and in elementary schools. She was a camper, CIT, and counselor at Goldman Union Camp Institute (GUCI) in Zionsville, Indiana and a Program Counselor and Program Director at Dragonfly Forest in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She also worked in multiple elementary schools with K-8th graders. She helped found Camp Kesem at Indiana University in 2004 and served as a coordinator and a Director at Indiana for three years. Her extensive background working with children in the camp setting has made her a firm believer in the positive transformational power of summer camp. A 2007 graduate of Indiana University, with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management, Liz hails from Indianapolis, Indiana and currently resides in Saint Petersburg, Florida with her husband, baby boy, and 3 cats.

Tracey Landstrom, Senior Manager of Operations (Camp Name “Pebbles”)
Tracey began working for Camp Kesem as a National Program Director in 2013 and has since moved into the role of Manager of Operations. As a student at UCLA, Tracey held multiple leadership roles in Camp Kesem including chapter Co-Director. After graduating, Tracey spent the year working for lululemon athletica in a managerial role. A native of California, Tracey grew up in Oakland and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA. She currently resides in Denver, Colorado.

Marge Lobeck, Manager of Programs (Camp Name “Mama”)
Marge joined Camp Kesem National in 2015. Before doing so, she founded Camp Kesem William & Mary’s chapter in 2013 and served as Co-Director for the following two years. She also worked as a Camp Kesem National Operations and Development Intern and served on the National Student Panel this past year. Marge graduated from William & Mary in 2015 with a B.A. in Literary and Cultural Studies with a concentration in Africana Studies. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, she now resides in Washington, D.C.

Laura Redmond, Manager of Operations (Camp Name “Giggles”)
Laura began working as a Program Director for Camp Kesem in 2015. Laura became involved with Camp Kesem as a Unit Leader in 2010, and continued on to become a Development Coordinator and Co-Director. Laura graduated from UC Berkeley in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology. She continued her involvement with Camp Kesem post-graduation as a camp advisor, advisory board member, and intake volunteer. Before joining the Camp Kesem team, she spent five summers working for Special Camp for Special Kids and a year working for Head-Royce School in programs administration. Laura is passionate about working with youth, and is excited to work for an organization that truly creates lasting meaningful impact. Laura grew up in Galway, Ireland, and currently resides in Berkeley, California.

Jenna Means, Operations Director - University Liaison (Camp Name “Goose”)
Jenna joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Program Director in 2014, and was promoted to Operations Director, University Liaison in 2016. Cody Ferrantino, Senior Program Director (Camp Name “Mufasa”)
Cody joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2015. Initially, Cody became involved with Camp Kesem as a cabin counselor at the University of Notre Dame during summer 2012. After his first camp, he served as Co-Director at CKND for the next three years, while also learning about the broader organization as a member of the National Student Panel in 2013 and an Operations Intern in 2014. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Originally from San Diego, California, Cody now resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ciara Lepanto, Senior Program Director (Camp Name “Wishbone”)
Ciara joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2015. She first got involved with Camp Kesem in 2012 as a counselor and continued on to become a member of the coordinator team and a co-chair. As a long-time camp enthusiast, Ciara was drawn to Camp Kesem because of the organization’s emphasis on community support and the simple art of play. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with a Bachelor of the Arts in English and a minor in Women’s Studies. She is from Tallahassee, Florida and currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Keandra Bryson, Program Director (Camp Name "Jade")
Keandra joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2017. Prior to this, Keandra was a member of the founding team at California State University, Fresno where she started as a Volunteer Coordinator, and then went on to serve as a Chapter Co-Director for two years. During this time, Keandra also served as a Risk Management Intern and as a member of the National Student Panel. Keandra graduated from Fresno State in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in Family and Consumer Science. She is from Bakersfield, California and currently resides in Davis, California.

Lily Daigle, Program Director (Camp Name “Dily”)
Lily joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2016. Prior to this, she founded the Carnegie Mellon chapter in 2014, and served as Co-Director for the next two years. She was also a member of the National Student Panel during her senior year. Having been involved as a camper and volunteer with Comfort Zone Camp, Lily was drawn to Kesem’s similar mission of helping kids understand that they are not alone. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Decision Science. She is from and currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.

Brittani Hammer, Program Director (Camp Name "Gingersnap")
Brittani joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2017 as a Regional Program Director. She first became involved with Camp Kesem in 2012 as a counselor and continued on to become a Development Coordinator and Co-Director. Brittani loved volunteering as a part of Camp Kesem where she was able to apply concepts she had studied in the classroom and make an impact in the community. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Nonprofit Management. She is from Lakeport, California and currently resides in Orem, Utah.

Kendall McKee, Program Director (Camp Name “Fizz”)
Kendall joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2016. Kendall first became involved with Camp Kesem at Indiana University in 2013 as a sophomore. After her first year at camp as a cabin counselor, she knew she wanted to take on more of a leadership role within the organization. The next year she was a Make the Magic Coordinator, and during her senior year she was one of the Directors. During Kesem's National Leadership Summit her senior year, she decided she wanted to become a part of the National team. She is looking forward to spreading her passion within the greater Kesem community! Kendall graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is originally from Newburgh, Indiana and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Annalisa Provenzano, Program Director (Camp Name "Ducky")
Annalisa joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2017. She first got involved with Camp Kesem in 2012 as a counselor and continued on to become a Development Coordinator and a Co-Director while in college, as well as a Camp Advisor and Intake Volunteer as an alumna. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2015 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and a minor in Women’s Studies: Gender and Health. Annalisa also graduated with her Master's in Public Health from George Washington University in 2017 with a focus in Health Policy. She is from Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Jean-Luc Rivera, Program Director (Camp Name "Tuba")
Jean-Luc joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2017 as a Regional Program Director. He first got involved with Camp Kesem in 2014 as a counselor with the Camp Kesem at North Carolina chapter and returned as a counselor again for his senior year. After graduating, he worked for Camp Corral, a camping nonprofit that provides military children with a free camping experience. There he was able to learn the ropes of the camping world and develop his passion for camp even more. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2015 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Biology. He is from Raleigh, North Carolina but will be relocating to Atlanta, Georgia this fall.

Zach Snelling, Program Director (Camp Name "Dwayne the Rock Johnson")
Zach joined the Camp Kesem National staff in 2017 as a Regional Program Director. Before doing so, he served as Co-Director at the University of Richmond, where he graduated in 2017 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Zach now resides in Washington, D.C.

Mackenzie Sullivan, Program Director (Camp Name "Ukie")
Mackenzie joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2017. Mackenzie first became involved with Camp Kesem as an inaugural member of Saint Louis University’s chapter in 2013. During her time at Saint Louis University, Mackenzie served as a counselor, Operations Coordinator, and a Co-Director for two years. She also worked with Camp Kesem National as a Risk Management Intern, Campsite Contract Intern, and as a member of the National Student Panel. Mackenzie graduated from Saint Louis University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Mackenzie now resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Abi Yates, Program Director (Camp Name “Kitty”)
Abi joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in 2016. Her first experience of Kesem was in 2005 as a camper at Camp Kesem at Indiana University. After losing her father to cancer in 2010, Abi was inspired to give back by becoming a Camp Kesem counselor in college. In the years following, Abi went to Indiana University and was able to be a Coordinator for three years and served as Co-Director her senior year. She graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors of Arts in Telecommunications. Originally from San Diego, California, Abi now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Stacey Yi, Program Director (Camp Name “Sunshine”)
A native Californian, Stacey grew up with ambitious goals, hoping to one day rule and change the world. Experiencing the sudden loss of her mother to cancer at age 10, she was struck by life’s brevity and the naiveté of her assumption that one had to rule the world to make it a better place. While she’s kept “Ruler of the World” open as a career option, Stacey has deeply involved herself with a variety of causes and nonprofit work. Some of her most cherished experiences have been teaching conservation to elementary students, caring for HIV/AIDS hospice residents, working on children’s research and advocacy, and founding & co-directing Camp Kesem at Rice University. She is thrilled about the opportunity to continue working with her favorite organization toward a cause so personally meaningful, while building and engaging communities in Southern California and Arizona.

Bob Bartell, CFA is a Managing Director and Global Head of Corporate Finance at Duff & Phelps Corp., a global valuation and corporate finance advisory firm. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Bob was a commercial banking officer at BMO Harris Bank. From 2008 through 2010, Bob worked in the London, UK office of Duff & Phelps where he assisted in building up D&P’s European M&A and restructuring practices. Bob has degrees from The University of Chicago (MBA) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Bachelor of Science). Bob is a member of The CFA Institute, The Chicago Club, The Economic Club of Chicago and The Chicago Commonwealth Club. Bob and his wife, Heather, live in the Chicago area and have three children. Bob is honored to serve Camp Kesem as a Board Member given his desire to improve the lives of children who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer.

John K. Bradburn Jr.
John received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Indiana University, where he was involved with Camp Kesem as a coordinator and counselor for four years. John is a Vice President at Sandbox Industries, a venture capital firm in Chicago, where he works with the team that manages the BlueCross BlueShield Venture Funds, approximately $300 million from over 20 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans focused on healthcare technology and innovation. Prior to Sandbox, John worked in investment banking with GCA Savvian and in M&A consulting with KPMG.

Emily M. Brakebill, Chairwoman is Managing Director, Chief of Operations and member of the Investment Committee at HMI Capital, where she has been since the inception of the firm in December 2008. HMI Capital is a private investment firm pursuing a long-term, concentrated, value-oriented, global strategy. Prior to joining HMI, Emily spent four years as a Vice President and Investment Manager at Columbus Nova Partners, a private investment management firm with over $1.5 billion under management. Prior to Columbus Nova, Emily served as Vice President and Investment Manager at Sirrom Capital, where she made investments in the software, service, retail and manufacturing sectors. Emily previously spent two years in Strategic Development and as an Assistant to the Founder / CEO of a publicly traded restaurant chain. She also spent significant time in operating roles at two internet service businesses. Emily started her career as a Financial Analyst in Corporate Finance at Montgomery Securities. Emily received an A.B. from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Ken, and their three children.

Thom Brown is retired from Great Northern Corporation in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he held several positions in The Specialty Group, Laminations. Before joining Great Northern Corporation, Thom spent over 20 years in the Aerospace Industry, with both Continental Airlines and Midwest Airlines. He has been active in clean drinking water projects in Guatemala through Rotary International, and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Thom has a BS from the University of Maine, a MBA from Marquette University, and received certification in Sales Management from The University of Wisconsin’s Fluno Center for Executive Education. Thom has been a member of the Camp Kesem-University of Wisconsin Board of Advisors, and has a daughter who is a Camp Kesem camper, “Bear”.

Ben Cornwell is a partner and co-founder at Paperclip Ltd., the Los Angeles based boutique development firm focused on projects in film, television, and the digital space. Prior to founding Paperclip Ltd. he was the COO of Marchez Vous, a luxury women’s footwear brand, which was originally launched as part of the brand development division at ROAR, the Beverly Hills based talent management company, where Ben was a manager from 2008 through 2012. Before joining ROAR, he was Managing Director at JS Apparel, a multi-national clothing manufacturer, with factories in Indonesia, Guatemala, and Los Angeles. He also currently sits on the board of directors for ECH Industries, a third party logistics provider. Becky Crowe is a Partner at Bellwether Education Partners, a nonprofit education consulting firm working to improve educational outcomes for low-income students. She has spent more than 15 years leading education reform efforts as a social entrepreneur and education policy and philanthropy advisor. Prior to joining Bellwether, Becky served as Executive Director of Partners in School Innovation in San Francisco. During her tenure, Partners doubled in size and became the key school improvement partner in several of the Bay Area’s largest urban districts. Keith Dierkx currently leads IBM’s Global Rail business and is Director of the Global Rail Innovation Center in Beijing China where he leads a team of researchers, software developers and consultants. He is also a member of the IBM Industry Academy, a cross-IBM fellowship of the top IBM Industry leaders across all disciplines. Keith was previously Senior Vice President of Operations and CIO for Embarcadero Systems, and Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Savi Technology, a venture funded start-up that was sold to Lockheed-Martin. Ron Glickman, Board Chair Emeritus is Vice President of Information Technology at Trader Joe’s in Monrovia, California, and served as the Camp Kesem Board Chair from 2004 to 2014. He joined Camp Kesem to help founder, Iris Rave-Wedeking, realize her vision to make Camp Kesem available to families across the country that are coping with the horrific and unjust impacts of cancer on the entire family, not just the adult patient. Ron was moved by Iris’ vision and drawn to the opportunities to change lives; children’s lives that are turned upside down when the joys of childhood are replaced with fears of losing a parent to cancer and the lives of college students who want to make a difference now, while developing leadership know-how for tomorrow. Robert Plotkowski has been a commercial real estate lawyer for over 30 years, and has been involved in large and sophisticated real estate projects in Southern California and throughout the United States. Carlyn Solomon is Chief Operating Officer of Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc., a leading worldwide manufacturer and provider of medical technologies and related services for the health care industry. Prior to joining Hill-Rom, Carlyn worked at Edwards Lifesciences where he most recently served as Corporate Vice President (President) of Edwards’ Critical Care and Vascular businesses. Before that, Carlyn was the Vice President of Corporate Strategy and General Manager of Edwards’ Cardiac Surgery Systems business. Before joining Edwards, Carlyn spent 18 years at Baxter International, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including interim President of Baxter’s $2.6 billion BioScience division, Vice President of Global Operations for that same division and, before that, Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain for Baxter’s Medication Delivery/IV Systems division. During his tenure at Baxter, Carlyn lived in Europe for over two years. Carlyn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University.

Jay Stilwell, Secretary is Director of Marketing at The Clorox Company in Oakland, California. Since joining in 2001, he has created marketing campaigns and managed brand strategy and planning for several brands, including Clorox, Glad, Fresh Step and Brita. Jay currently manages new product innovation teams in the salad dressing, water filtration and cat litter categories. Iris Rave Wedeking, Founder developed the vision for the first Camp Kesem Chapter at Stanford University in 2000 and pursued national expansion of the program in 2002 after recognizing a nationwide need for Camp Kesem. She holds a degree in Child Development from Tufts University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Iris has over 13 years of residential camping experience in staff and management positions and worked in consumer insights at The Clorox Company for eight years. She is currently working with her husband to build a national franchise of dental implant centers, with a mission to make dental implants affordable and accessible to everyone who needs them.

Mike Abrams (Camp Name "Yoshi") joined the Camp Kesem family in 2005 where he has held multiple different coordinator roles and currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Camp Kesem Indiana University. Yoshi proudly holds the self-proclaimed title of “Best Sports Coordinator” at IU’s camp which still sparks controversy amongst active alumni. Post-graduation, he played an early role in the Camp Kesem Alumni Association development serving as the Marketing/PR coordinator in 2010 & 2011 and as a member of the mentorship committee in 2012 & 2013. Outside of Camp Kesem, Yoshi works at Angie’s List as the National Accounts Program Manager developing manufacturer campaigns. When Yoshi is not busy making the world a better place, you will find him focused on his hobbies which currently include ice hockey, TV sitcoms, and YouTubing movie montages from the 80s.

Brian Brown (Camp Name "Rev") Brian's camp name "Rev" comes from quarterback Jerry "Rev" Harris in "Remember the Titans". Serving first as a counselor and two subsequent years as Co-Director, Brian worked to establish a tradition of sustainability and servant leadership for the Chapter at Brigham Young University. One of the highlights of his CK experience was participating in the "Let Them Be Kids" photo story. In the years since his day-to-day camp involvement, Brian has held various marketing positions at Information Technology businesses including most recently, Vice President at InfoTrax Systems. He and his wife (CK Alumni "Wink") are raising a little munchkin ("Sweet Pea") along the mountain vistas of Salt Lake City, Utah. Michael Finegan (Camp Name "Jello") graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009 where he was a counselor, Financial Chair and Co-Director for Camp Kesem North Carolina. When arriving on day one of his first counselor orientation, Michael and his twin brother Patrick were given the choice of either "Jello and Pudding" or "Spaghetti and Meatballs" as their camp names. After fighting about who would have to be meatball, they gave up and settled on Jello and Pudding, and it's been that way since. Upon graduation he moved to Johannesburg, South Africa to work as a volunteer educator, teaching remedial literacy and math to underprivileged high schoolers with learning disabilities. Returning home led to graduate school studying Health Administration at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Jello currently works as the Administrator of Medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and has also served a short tenure as the Interim Executive Director of Cancer Services at GBMC. Jello serves on the Advisory Board for Camp Kesem JHU and has continued to stay involved in CKNC.

Mark Howard (Camp Name "Gramps") first became involved with Kesem while seeking his undergraduate degree at Indiana University. Before that, Mark spent his formative years as a camper, CIT, counselor and senior staff at a summer camp in south central Indiana. Mark first became as a volunteer counselor at Camp Kesem in the summer of 2006. During his six years with the IU organization, he also served as a unit leader, fundraising coordinator and helped launch the teen program. Currently, he volunteers as a camp advisor during the summer camp season and have traveled to camps at OSU, Miami, Vanderbilt, Emory, UGA and Rowan. He is from Oakland, California and resides in Bloomington, Indiana. Mark has experience as a college administrator and currently works as a special education teacher and teacher-trainer at Clear Creek Elementary School.

Caroline Huang (Camp Name "Congo") is the founder of Camp Kesem’s MIT chapter. Since joining the Camp Kesem community in 2006, she has served as a co-director, senior advisor, and advisory board member for MIT; a co-chair of the National Student Advisory Board; a summer intern for Camp Kesem National; a camp advisor for Florida, UPenn, and JHU; a coordinator for the Camp Kesem Alumni Association; and a member of the alumni Legacy Circle. She is a Public Health PhD candidate, Rhodes Scholar, and World Economic Forum Global Shaper who researches, teaches, and writes about medical ethics and health policy at the University of Oxford’s Ethox Centre. Her thesis examines ethical issues surrounding access to care for breast cancer gene mutations, a topic inspired by Camp Kesem families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from MIT, where she was named a member of the USA TODAY All-USA College Academic First Team and recipient of an Institute Award for public service. Caroline currently splits time between Newark, Delaware and Oxford, England.

Elizabeth Hyatt (Camp Name "Dunkin") joined the Camp Kesem family in 2011 at the University of Florida. She served as a unit leader, Operations and Programming Coordinator, Teen Camp Coordinator, National Student Advisory Board member, and Alumni Advisory Board Member at FSU. Passionate about cancer advocacy, Elizabeth lobbied on Capitol Hill as Camp Kesem’s Student Representative for One Voice Against Cancer and worked on oral chemotherapy parity legislation in Florida. While completing her masters at UF, Elizabeth participated in Florida’s Gubernatorial Fellowship and developed policy research focused on creating a state-wide telehealth infrastructure and network to improve access and specialty care for cancer patients She holds a bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Political Campaigning from the University of Florida. Currently, Elizabeth works for Deloitte Consulting in Washington D.C. helping federal agencies develop strategies to tackle their complex business challenges.

Kye Kolar (Camp Name "Big Bird") became involved with Kesem as a cabin counselor at the University of Virginia in 2007 and his heart has stayed close to the cause as he and his wife have lost 3 grandfathers, an aunt, and many friends in the decade since. He has over ten years experience managing complex projects for energy companies, technology firms, financial institutions, two branches of the armed forces and a handful of Fortune 500 companies. He currently serves as a Director at Aquilan Technologies, where he develops and implements financial crimes risk-management solutions for the financial services industry to undermine fraud, insider trading and terrorist funding. Jeff Leibach, Co-Chair (Camp Name "Tiny") joined Camp Kesem as a co-founder of Camp Kesem North Carolina as a student at Duke University in 2003. Jeff served as a co-chair, and advisory board member, helping grow CKNC to serve over 100 campers per year by its fourth year. After graduating in 2006 with a B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University, Jeff served as Camp Kesem's first National Program Director. Working with incredible student leaders and board leadership during his two years as National Program Director, Jeff helped Camp Kesem grow from 9 campuses to 22 campuses during that two year period. During that time Jeff also helped organize Camp Kesem's first National Leadership Conference, and helped unify the Camp Kesem around its current logo and branding. In 2008, Jeff began a career in healthcare strategy consulting, helping hospitals and insurers transform the way the healthcare is paid for in the U.S. Jeff continues his work in healthcare consulting today, is currently pursuing an M.B.A from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Sarah Leibach (Camp Name "Pancake") is an Associate Director at Orr Associates, Inc. Zach Morris (Camp Name "Binx") joined the Camp Kesem family in 2011 as the co-founder and Co-Chair of the University of Minnesota chapter, which served 44 campers in its inaugural summer. As a student, he also served on the National Student Panel for two years. Since graduating, Zach has served as a CIT Advisor, Camp Advisor, and Senior Camp Advisor for more than 8 schools and 10 weeks of camp, and currently sits on the Advisory Boards for both Emory University and the University of Georgia. During the summer of 2016, Zach joined Team Kesem and ran the San Francisco Marathon, raising enough money to send four more kids to camp! Zach works full-time in the Extramural Research Department at the American Cancer Society and teaches high school life sciences part-time in a hybrid education program he co-founded in 2013. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia (where he serves as a Kesem Alumni Ambassador!) with his dog, Henry, and black cat, Binx!

Dana Percoco (Camp Name "Thumper") joined Camp Kesem at the University of California, Davis in 2007. During her time at Camp Kesem at UC Davis she held a variety of positions including, Admin Coordinator, Student Support Coordinator, and Co-Chair. Jeremy Reynard (Camp Name "Bubba") joined Camp Kesem in 2012 at UCLA, where was a counselor for 2 years and admin for 1 year. During his junior year, he was co-Development Director and co-Director senior year. Bubba even got to cross territory turf and attend USC's inaugural week of Kesem as a counselor in 2013! Bubba's proudest Kesem accomplishment was helping lead the expansion of Camp Kesem at UCLA to two week-long sessions of camp. After graduating in 2014, Bubba came back to be a CIT Advisor for Camp Kesem at UCLA in 2015. Originally from California, he moved to New York a year ago, and works as a Research Associate at LinkedIn. Best known for being called out to "Shake That Booty", Bubba loves all things Kesem and is excited to be joining the Alumni Leadership Board.

Bethany Schwartz (Camp Name "Peach") joined Camp Kesem as a founding member and Camper Care Coordinator at Camp Kesem-UC Berkeley in 2006, where she graduated in 2008 Phi Beta Kappa and with Highest Honors in Cultural Anthropology. Since her time at UC Berkeley, Bethany has developed a career in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry holding various positions from Sales, to Corporate Communications/Public Relations, to New Business Development/Pipeline Management at Advantage Sales and Marketing (ASM), the nation’s largest CPG outsourcing firm. Currently, Bethany is a National Client Team Leader for ASM’s Abbott Nutrition business, touching over $900M in client invoice sales. Camp Kesem is her greatest passion. She owes the success of her career today to what this organization taught her as a student, and is very eager to pay it forward to the next generation as an ALB member. Today, she resides with her husband in Los Angeles, California.

Joe Schlingbaum (Camp Name "Flounder") is a graduate of the University of Virginia (2007) who lives and works in Washington, DC, and is an attorney-advisor with the Federal Communications Commission. He was one of a group of students at UVA that worked to found the camp there, and held the first week of camp in summer 2006. Since graduating from UVA, he has worked with Camp Kesem in a variety of capacities – conferences, teen camp, and one of the early incarnations of the alumni association.

Marty Shamon (Camp Name "Goofy") joined Camp Kesem in 2009 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a student at the University of Illinois, Marty held numerous roles with Camp Kesem, including counselor, coordinator, and chapter Co-Director. After graduating, Marty continued his involvement with Camp Kesem as National Summit Intern and Senior Camp Advisor, and then joined the Camp Kesem National staff in 2014 as a Program Director. Michelle Silver (Camp Name "Silver") graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Stanford University in 2007 and then received an ScM in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2009, and is currently a PhD candidate there as well, where her dissertation focuses on cervical cancer screening. Michelle became involved with Camp Kesem at Stanford in 2004, where she spent 3 years as a counselor and coordinator. Unable to part with camp after graduation, Michelle has since served as a Camp Advisor every summer since graduating Stanford, and also serves on CK JHU’s advisory board, and now the CK Alumni Leadership Board. Michelle hopes Camp Kesem will stay a part of her life forever!

Bre Vergess (Camp Name "Brooklyn") Bre became involved with Camp Kesem at Berkeley in 2009, and continued on to serve as Finance Coordinator, Student Support Coordinator and Admin Coordinator for the Teen Program. Rebecca Wong, Co-Chair (Camp Name "Noodle") Rebecca's Camp Kesem journey began in May 2006. Bridging her love for her hometown of Chapel Hill and her alma mater Duke, Rebecca helped solidify the unique Duke-UNC partnership at Camp Kesem NC as the summer intern, development coordinator, co-director and senior advisory board member. After graduation, Rebecca stayed involved with the Camp Kesem Alumni Association in various roles including CKAA co-chair, coordinator and the camp advisor for the University of Washington. She is tremendously humbled to serve on the inaugural Alumni Leadership Board, and looks forward to sharing the Kesem magic with our campers, families, and volunteers whose strength and joy continually inspire her.
