CAMP KESEM GIVE A LAUGH WINNER ANNOUNCED
LAFAYETTER, CALIF. – With Father’s Day arriving today, so does the announcement of the winner of Camp Kesem’s inaugural Give a Laugh campaign. After narrowing down the entries to the top 54, representing Camp Kesem’s 54 camps, the race became heated, with Jeannie Walsh of Janesville, Wisconsin ultimately winning. In addition to being crowned Best Laugh, Jeannie Walsh will receive a year’s supply of Giordano’s World Famous Chicago Pizza. The winning video, available at http://goo.gl/pcBEI, will be tweeted and posted by celebrities, shared on YouTube and played at national Camp Kesem and partner events.
The campaign, which kicked off on Mother’s Day, May 12, aimed to honor mothers and fathers everywhere by spreading the joy of laughter. It also succeeded in bringing significant attention to Camp Kesem, with more than 36 million impressions and mentions by AOL Impact, Yahoo Finance and celebrities Jennie Garth, Aldon Smith, Bobby Jackson and Jim Higley.
Camp Kesem is a network of free one-week sleep away summer camps and year-round social circles for kids ages 6 to 16 whose parents have or had cancer. Their ultimate mission is to bring joy and laughter back to these invisible victims.
